PC Compatible SNES Controller - Building Service
PC Compatible SNES Controller + Spare Parts put together by Zeni! Tuned with Super Metroid Speedrunning in mind.
**DISCLAIMER 1**
Super Metroid's "top runners" all have very different preferences for what they like in a controller and how it feels - especially the dpad - the controllers are built in a way that I personally prefer. If you have your own specific preferences, please communicate that with me and I will do my best to accommodate.
**DISCLAIMER 2**
This variant of the controller is compatible with PCs and Modern Consoles -- This is NOT compatible with Original SNES Consoles, see description below for more information. This variant costs more than a standard SNES Controller, The price increase compared to the standard build listing is reflective of the cost of the board and other odds and ends associated with making a build like this.
--
Need a SNES Controller, or having trouble with the one that you have? I've spent hundreds of hours building and tweaking SNES controllers while I've been speedrunning SM over the past 8+ years, and I want to help!
Each controller comes with the following minimum:
- Controller Shell with working (not stripped) screws and screw shafts (usually Super Famicom variant logo)
- SFC/PAL Colored Face Buttons (all convex, no concave)
- Reflex Ctrl PCB (from Misteraddons, https://misteraddons.com/products/reflex-ctrl?srsltid=AfmBOoqaN5HGxnF0XhGNp9KA3SwPMQPVnAABLPp3aXAb-zDf1qILdQnU) - Compatible with PC, Switch, PS3, PS4, and potentially other consoles that support Xinput/Direct Input. Check the link for more details)
- OEM Rubber/Membrane Pieces (cannot guarantee durability of these, as they are typically 30+ years old)
- 1-2 Sets of replacement Rubber/Membrane pieces (Typically these are TopGear Japan membranes)
- 1 USB C to USB A Cable (required to connect the controller to a PC or Modern Console)
All controllers will be fully tested prior to being sent out (this means I will use it enough to test/practice common trouble spots I've found, but I will not be using it enough to cause any measurable wear and tear :)
The price reflected is indicative of both the cost of parts (specified above) as well as my personal time spent building and testing the controller + shipping costs (details below)
An average nice used SNES Controller will typically cost anywhere from $20-40 + shipping (if applicable), and most of the time has not been properly cleaned or tested.
Controllers will be shipped via USPS unless otherwise specified -- shipping within the United States is typically $10 (included in the price listed) -- Please contact me via Discord for other shipping accommodations so we can work out additional pricing.
**After purchasing, please join my Discord and post in the #controller-service channel, or DM me directly to keep in touch about your order/any requests you have about tuning the feel/responsiveness of the buttons. If you do not have/would rather not join my discord, please e-mail me at shinyzenictrl@gmail.com -- I sometimes forget to check this e-mail reguarly, so if you don't hear back please reach out via other means.**
**I am not currently shipping these PCB variants internationally -- if you live outside the United States and would like one of these controllers, please reach out to me separately via Discord and I will see what we can work out.**
Variant Information:
The Reflex Ctrl PCB comes with thicker L/R boards that are more rigid and designed to stay put better than the original OEM boards. This can be better or worse for different types of presses. I do not currently offer the tactile/mechanical switch replacement for these boards.
